Synaptic Search lets staff and customers search databases, catalogues and operational systems in plain language, without forms, filters or SQL.

## What It Does

- **Ask Naturally**: People search in plain language, not SQL. Intent is parsed and turned into multi-layered database queries.
- **Meaning, Not Keywords**: Semantic embeddings match what people mean, so conversational phrasing still finds the relevant records.
- **Copes With How People Type**: Fuzzy matching and synonyms handle misspellings, shorthand and regional terms.
- **Clarifies When Unsure**: Weighted ranking blends the methods. Quick clarifying questions and "Did you mean" suggestions refine the results.

## Control and Audit

- **Guardrails**: Hard constraints such as price, date, region, stock or compliance rules are still enforced as SQL filters, so results stay accurate and auditable.
- **Where a person decides**: When a question is ambiguous, Synaptic Search asks the person a quick clarifying question to refine the results.
- **What gets logged**: Full audit trail, included on every line.
